On March 10, 2024, closing prices for major U.S. equities tanked as global markets slipped into uncertainty, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 2.08%, the NASDAQ Composite plunging 4%, and the S&P 500 index sliding 2.7%. Notably, Tesla (TSLA.O), a stock that has long been a favorite among investors, plummeted over 15% in one day, marking the biggest one-day percentage decline since September 2020. Its total market capitalization closed at $71.4549 billion (approximately RMB 519 billion), representing a $13.0349 billion (about RMB 9,460 billion) loss in market value.

After a 15% decline, Tesla's stock price has halved compared to its peak in the past year. Earlier that day, a user on a social media platform compiled a report on Tesla's stock price decline over the years, with Elon Musk, the company's CEO, tweeting, "It will be fine long-term (long-term will be alright)."

It's worth noting that following Trump's victory in the U.S. election in November last year, Tesla's stock price surged, with a rise of over 60% between November 1 and December 31, 2024. At closing on March 10, the stock was trading at $222.15, down over 50% from its highs.

Since the beginning of this year, Tesla has faced challenges in sales across major markets. In February, Tesla recorded a significant decline in vehicle sales in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and parts of France, with market share eroding.

Specific data reveal that in February 2024, Tesla's share of new passenger car registrations in Germany fell by 6.4%, dropping to 20,343 vehicles, a 76% year-on-year decline. Meanwhile, in France, Tesla's share of new registrations decreased by 45% year-on-year, with only 1,429 vehicles registered.

In the U.S. domestic market, Tesla has also faced a series of setbacks, including four consecutive months of negative growth. Additionally, in recent weeks, protests have erupted in several U.S. states, with people gathered at Tesla stores to protest against Elon Musk's request to reduce federal spending, as he is reportedly pushing for cuts in the U.S. government.

In China,乘聯(lián)會(huì) (LAC) reported that Tesla's批發(fā)銷量 in February dropped by 49% year-on-year, with a further decline of 51% compared to January.

10.瑞銀 (瑞銀) has revised its forecast for Tesla's quarterly deliveries this year from its previous estimate of 437,000 vehicles to 367,000 vehicles. Furthermore,瑞銀 analyst downgraded Tesla's target price, cutting it from $259 to $225, while maintaining a "sell" rating on the company.
