On February 28, 2025, the launch ceremony for the construction of low-altitude air transportation systems in浦東新區(qū) was held at Binhe Mountain Park, organized by the浦東新區(qū) Joint Affairs Committee. On the same day, test flights were conducted for intercity air-fastways connecting Suzhou and Nanjing to浦東, as well as flights between Binhe Mountain Park and other key locations like Xuhui濱江 and Wu Song International Cruise Port.

Mr.龐曉明, a pilot with over a decade of experience in the industry, explained that due to the effects of fog during takeoff, the flight time was delayed by an hour. He noted that in recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in demand for low-altitude tourism. Currently, his flights operate mainly as商務(wù)包機(jī), with different aircraft catering to different customer groups and capacities.

Mr.呂勇, CEO of飛先天空科技 and member of the management board of 若航工業(yè) Group, stated that low-altitude air transportation technology has reached maturity. The company, a independently owned enterprise, has been pioneers in developing a comprehensive air transportation ecosystem, focusing on urban air mobility systems and developing the "airplane on wheels" platform.

Test flights

Currently, the company has established a citywide intercity air-fastway network centered in Suzhou in the長(zhǎng)三角 region. Flights connect蘇州 to無(wú)錫機(jī)場(chǎng), Nanjing city center, Changshu, and other locations, totaling 21 intercity air-fastways. In the Pearl River Delta region, the company has also established a cross-bay air-fastway network centered in Guangzhou, operating flights between Guangzhou city center, Guangzhou airport, Hong Kong, and澳門(mén).

Mr.呂勇 added that discussions are underway with浦東新區(qū) government departments to build a type of垂直起降 terminal hub in Pudong. The goal is to develop a comprehensive intercity air-fastway network covering浦東 and neighboring cities such as Suzhou, Nanjing, and Wuxi. He noted that with this project, ordinary citizens could fly small planes, significantly reducing travel time from 2 hours by car to approximately 25 minutes. He predicted that once the network reaches a certain scale, ticket prices could be kept under 800 yuan per person.

Mr.余穎,浦東新區(qū)副區(qū)長(zhǎng), emphasized that浦東新區(qū) has always been at the forefront of national development, and the construction of low-altitude air transportation systems represents an adventurous exploration of low-altitude development. He stated that浦東新區(qū) will adhere to the national and Shanghai guidelines for low-altitude economic development, ensuring the safety and efficiency of low-altitude air transportation services in浦東, and will provide a "Pudong solution" for the city's low-altitude traffic services and contribute a "Pudong strength" to the field.

Mr.李樹(shù)遜,浦東新區(qū) Joint Affairs Committee Party Secretary and Director, said that in the coming years, through the construction of low-altitude air transportation networks,浦東 will further develop air links between cities and key business districts, transportation hubs, and industrial parks, promoting the integration of low-altitude economic development and urban development.
